Buyer beware!!! The "Frequently bought together" section of this product is wrong!!! The Bell Qualifier Street Helmet" does not fit this product at all. Thinking I could alter this visor to fit this helmet, I was so wrong. Now I am out of $39.95 and the visor is worthless. The correct visor is the "Bell Click Release Visor 2015 Star, Vortex, RS-1, Qualifier and Revolver - Dark Smoke Shield". Amazon, please change the section of this listing to reflect this or you will have more customers clicking the wrong visor and a lot more returns.
I've been wanting to get a Pinlock system for my helmet ever since seeing how well it worked on friends helmets. I have a Bell Revolver Evo helmet. Being an older model, and as far as I know, no longer manufactured, makes it hard to find accessories. So when I found this deal on Amazon, I was happy. I was unsure however, because of the vague description, if this was just the shield, or the shield AND the Pinlock insert. Also, the main image on the ad does not look like the correct shield for the Bell Click Release helmets. But I took the chance and ordered it. When I opened the box, I was happy to see that it is in fact the correct shield, and includes both the shield and the insert. It's a great deal considering a clear shield alone cost the same as this Pinlock shield and insert together. I haven't used it on my helmet yet, but I have no doubt it'll work great, like most Pinlock systems.
Update: I've ridden with this shield several times now. The shield is great, and the Pinlock insert is great. It does just what it's supposed to do, it prevents the shield from fogging up. It doesn't distort my vision at all. However, I had to take away one star. When raising the shield from the down position, the Pinlock insert catches on the upper rim of the face opening of my helmet, making it hard to open. I either have to force it open, or raise the modular portion of my helmet first in order to raise the shield. If the designers had moved the position of the insert down, just a fraction of an inch, this wouldn't happen. But all in all, it's still a great deal.
I was looking for an all gold mirror shield as my bike has many gold features. The picture does not do it justice. It is a mirror shield. You cannot see through it. I have added a photo of how it looks on my helmet.
However, this shield falls somewhere between gold and turquoise. You can always see gold but often the sides and other areas are turquoise in color. I like the shield but am not a huge fan of the chameleon coloring.
No fogging problems on colder days
I haven't had any major scratches from handling or washing. I wash it by hand under warm water and blot dry with a soft towel. You should be gentle anyways with shields, they are coated optical lenses and should be treated as such.
The darkness of the shield is good for bright sun and dawn/dusk but I would not ride at late night. I got stuck out just a little after the sun set and it was pretty difficult to see.
It has been around 1000 miles so far and I have washed it 4 or 5 times and the iridium coating has not chipped or scratched.
Overall it is a great shield, that is durable (for a coated shield) and looks good.
Visor came in with a bunch of scratches by the latching points, which was odd because it was still wrapped in what looked to be original packaging. You can see face through visor out in sun. The main reason this got a 1 star is because a notification came with visor stating use for Europe only. This should be clearly stated in description. Minus the scratches and Europe use, I think I would have gave this a 5 star.
The unit was similar to the one originally attached to the helmet. It gave me excellent vision as expected. However, attaching it to the helmet was a considerable issue. Initially, I had no problems while attaching on one side. But while trying to attach it on the remaining side, it wouldn't completely fit properly inside the hole. It seems as though the entire unit is slightly warped. Still, even with it not fitting snugly, it holds decently and doesn't tend to come loose altogether and fall off. Just means that I need to invest in a second (better) helmet as the one I have isn't the best one can buy. Okay with it for now.

I love this thing! Blocks out most of the sun, nobody can see in through it, and it looks amazing!
Edit: It says not for night time use and now I understand why. I got caught late the other night wearing it and it is extremely hard to see at night with it. Still a 10/10 visor but definitely only use during the day.
After spending $70, I really wanted to like this visor. However I have to admit that it just doesnt meet expectations. First off, it is not gold. Its more like the color of motor oil on water. Lots of green/blue. Yes there is some gold hints in it if the light hit it right, but theres just no way the color could be considered gold by any stretch of the imagination. Secondly, it fogs much easier that my other two visors. And it doesnt just fog up, it also does clear when the fog goes away. Instead there is this hazy residue that gets left behind and wont clear up until you clean it. Overall I am not impressed and wish I had saved the money for something else.
Got this shield because it's supposed to fit the revolver evo. It does not. Just pops out of the connectors no matter how many times you try to get it to stay in. I don't know what pin lock system another reviewer received, but it wasn't in mine. Shield also doesn't come down far enough even if it would fit, would be getting air constantly. If you have a revolver evo, don't buy this visor or you'll just be pissed off and having to return it, just like im having to do. Getting soured on Bell quickly.
Does what it says on the tin, easy fit, good clear vision
I have a Bell Star helmet, these visors were advertised to fit the Star helmet. They dont fit, the connection system is totally different. Im very disappointed, this should be an easy one not to mess up !!
