Good product. I was hesitant to pick this shade since I wanted a darker one but other reviews mentioned the other was too dark. This one is fine. Structurally, it’s great too. A truck kicked a rock up and nailed me in the visor. It left a pretty deep and long scratch but it held up really well and did not shatter. I’ll be purchasing another, darker, visor and will leave an updated review on the next one.
I’m glad I didn’t take the other reviews saying this shield was too dark, too seriously because it’s perfect! I wanted a shield so I didn’t have to wear sunglasses and this is the one. I’m not one of those people that wear sunglasses inside or at night. I have no problem seeing out of it even when the sun is behind clouds or I’m in a tunnel of trees. It’s also very easy to replace the shields on these helmets.
Love how this thing looks on my T-1, but the tint is simply way too dark. Took it out today since we had some brilliantly sunny weather and it was like riding around just after sunset. The only time I was glad I had the dark tint was as I was riding directly into the afternoon sun. At night, I'm pretty sure this visor would be dangerously dark. I can only imagine how little light would penetrate the tint during a night ride. I ended up ordering the light smoke color and will probably have to send this one back. Too bad because it looks so cool when installed on the helmet.
Fits the helmet nicely, and does what it’s supposed to do, but this thing is just too dark even for the sunniest days. Much darker than my many previous “dark smoke “ lenses for other helmets. I had to purchase the light smoke one also because this is like riding at night. I love the tint of the light smoke, however after i washed the bugs off with a mild soap and water some sort of film started coming off. I am not happy with either of the shields...It almost makes me wish i hadn't purchased this particular helmet.
Easy swap for the helmet. Literally all you need is a quarter. Takes about 2 minutes in total. The light smoke seems like the perfect tint and it’s a huge improvement over the stock clear plastic. No more squinting or straining due to the sun being in your eyes. It’s also anti fog and it does do it’s job. Very happy with the upgrade

Replacement shield for TORC T1 retro full face helmets. Find a clean, flat surface to work on. Use a large coin to remove the aluminum pivot screws on each side. Take care not to drop the screws and washer. Notice how pivot plates fit together to ease replacement. Pivot base plate may or may not release from its mount location, either way, is acceptable. Replace shield onto pivot base plate, then washer and screws. Using fingers then coin, tighten screws using caution not to over-tightened. Test shield function before use.
I love my Torq helmets, but the clear shields are no help riding into the sun, or on a very bright day, and sometimes you need more than sunglasses. This is the second tinted shield I've purchased, and it is perfect for summer riding. Plus, I can easily flip it up while I'm riding, and it stays up.
I got the dark smoke and my gosh it is dark! Seriously reduced vison and clarity even in full sunlight. If the sun goes down even a little bit I have to open the visor completely or else it'll be pitch black. The only times it has helped was when riding directly into the sun but most other times its far too dark. Going to have to try the light smoke.
I wear prescription sunglasses and it's a pain switching between them and my regular glasses after I ride. Finally bought this Light Smoke shield and I LOVE IT. Not too dark, but blocks out the Southern California sun perfectly.
