I got the GT Air 2 to replace my old GT Air helmet. The GT Air 2 is very comfortable, excellent air flow, and I like the ratchet chin strap, I can manage the strap with gloves on. The drop down visor is just a little bit longer which is also great. There is also a little channel between pads that if you wear glasses, it's easier to slide glasses in and you don't get a pressure point there. For the visor, it comes with a pinlock, the visor is wide, and I like that the visor can be opened slightly and stay in place, allowing for even more airflow. With vents open, noise is minimal even going above 65mph. The sizing is spot on, I fall directly in between two sizes where XS and S overlap. Ordered a S here on Amazon after trying it on in at a store. I really like the Redux graphic, it's sharp looking. The pictures don't do it justice, there are little details to the graphic that don't show in the pictures. I plan on getting the Sena system that is designed to go with this helmet next.
I bought a competitor's helmet (Ruroc) before purchasing this one. Long story short, I returned the helmet for several reasons (a story within itself SMH). Sure the Shoei GT-Air 2 was a little pricier but you definitely get what you pay for and you can't put a price on your life. What I love about this helmet is the sheer comfort, 180° view, built-in sun visor, anti-fog shield (included) & the aesthetic just to name a few. Although safety was a major concern for me comparing this helmet to one of it's competitors was like comparing a Volvo to a Bentley.
The helmet performs as advertised. Perfect fit and great styling. Well-built construction. All features easy to understand and function. At high speeds I expected better performance with noise reduction, but overall pretty good. I'm a big Shoei fan and this helmet does not disappoint.
Awesome helmet. Very comfortable and quiet. Vents work well. Dark visor is really nice.
