Fit my new flat black hjc helmet just like it should and looks good. It’s a simple smoke lense, similar to any pair of fairly dark sunglasses. Helps knock out that bright Arizona sun. I wear perscription eyeglasses and this is the way to go if you don’t have sunglasses.
Probably gonna buy a spare just Incase.
Scratches don’t show as easy on this smoke lense compared to the mirror finish ones, which is nice. Would buy again.
Perfect replacement for those that ride with a clear shield and sunglasses. This makes it a lot easier than having to shuffle eyewear around - I wear glasses, so if it’s sunny out I have to wear sunglasses when I ride, and then when I get to where I’m going, I have to change to my normal glasses, then back to sunglasses again when it’s time to go. It seems minor, but there are already so many different things to account for when riding a motorcycle, and I’m all about simplifying my process wherever it’s possible. The shield works just as well as my sunglasses do, and was super easy to install. Also a side note- I’m sure it’s not recommended to ride with a smoked shield when it’s dark out, but I rode to work at 5:30 am before sunrise with the smoked shield (forgot to swap to the clear one) and while it obviously wasn’t crystal clear vision, I could still see everything just fine. In a pinch, you could ride with it in the dark. I would have just rode with it open but I go 50mph+ on the route I take to work so I figured it would be best to just keep it closed.
Worked very well for our project. We use these to cut up and make visors for our costuming helmets. We have been using motorcycle helmets for years for our costuming projects. We recently found these particular ones on Amazon. They were prime as a bonus, something we have a hard time finding to get shipped to us quickly for our customers. So this has been a fantastic find. The color that we got is dark smoke, and looks beautifully.
Having cut up a lot of shields, these are a great quality. Thick but not too much that it is hard to get through. We get a few smaller visors out of these, so it is very useful. Since I cannot report on how these are used for motorcycles, but only that they are durable and they take a lot of bending and shaping. They have not cracked or broke with all of the rigorous movement that we put them through to get them into out costuming piece. Definitely have found a permanent supplier of helmet shields for my business.
Did the above, AND kept the sun out of my eyes (I got the smoked version). People can’t see your face, either. I switched it out with my clear screen everyday as it was dark when I would drive to work and sunny when I’d leave - I don’t like wearing sunglasses underneath my helmet as they tend to fog up. I just carried this with me in my backpack. This is the second one I’ve owned - first one went with my old helmet when I sold it. I’d buy another if I needed one, no hesitation.
Oh yeah, I should note - it DOES fog up when it’s colder (read less than 50 degrees) out, but what shield doesn’t that’s not pinlock? I ended up buying one of the HJC breath boxes for chilly days - ended all my issues.

HJC puts a custom twist on the available shield for your helmet.
They developed the RST mirror coating that reflects light with the vacuum applied metallic compound coating.
The gradient smoke and hi-def orange change the lighting on the upper half of the shield and remain clear on the lower half for unrestricted visibility.

This visor is nice. I got the dark smoke, look really nice. The installation is easy for HJC. I use it on a CL-17.
Pros:

Cons:
- do not fit as snug as the original. There's a small edge that isn't seal as much. This is very minor and the wind is fine.
- finger print magnet. I have to wipe it each time. This is the reason I knock off 1 star.
I love this visor. I took a gamble on it but i've been very impressed. It snaps right in, goes up and down smoothly, and locks if you need. It's about the perfect amount of tint too, not too dark not too light. Originally I bought it because wearing sunglasses under a clear visor is a pain and this thing totally eliminated the need for the sunglasses. I only ride during the day so I cant speak to how dark it is at night but it would be very quick and easy to carry the clear one along and change out when needed - yes it's that easy to do, no tools, no fuss. Highly recommend this one if you have this helmet and want a darker visor.
Not much to complain about. Seller is good. Product is good. Product arrived with Genuine HJC packaging and imprints in the side of the shield. No scratches.
There was only one thing wrong, but it's not so much a problem with the product, as much as the shipping method. The package that the shield arrived in was unbelievably small; so small that I thought I'd made a mistake and ordered the wrong item. To my surprise, once I opened the box, the shield was inside. The only problem was, the tight fit warped the shield into a very narrow form. This is probably why some of the other reviewers have experienced a not-so-smooth opening and closing of the shield. It's nothing that a little overnight bracing can't fix. I considered giving it four stars for this, but I don't believe my situation warrants hurting the product rating. I'm sure after some work, it will be just as smooth as the stock clear shied. Also, the lock worked perfectly and held with substantial pressure.
P.S. I am using a size Medium CL-16 helmet. I think it would be helpful if all the other reviewers would add what model and size helmet this does or does not work with.
