Description
The LS2 MX470 Subverter full face motocross helmet is a game changer in the world of high performance MX helmets. LS2 uses their proprietary Kinetic Polymer Alloy (KPA) for the shell. It's lightweight, offers just a little flex as part of the energy management system, and is ultra strong. It tests as well as the best composite materials in the world and is the perfect material for a racing helmet. LS2 uses 3 shell sizes for the Subverter to assure that you get the smallest, lightest shell possible for your specific size. In fact, this is one of the smallest shells in the business. But things get even better. The internal, energy absorbing EPS uses in-molding technology, attaching an internal, polycarbonate protective layer between the dual-density EPS and the comfort padding. This layer is slick and works just like your scalp. It allows the comfort liner just a bit of slippage to help offset and diminish rotational energy and dramatically improve the dissipation of energy absorbed by the EPS. In other words, it takes energy management to a new, better level. We call it the Synthetic Slip System. The shell is 35 separate ventilation ports, with channeled EPS to allow the maximum possible airflow, keeping the rider cooler in the heat of competition. The comfort padding uses LS2's thermo-weld system, reducing the need for glues. It allows the fabric to be more breathable and comfortable. The liner is removable and washable, so you can keep it as fresh as new. The eye port is wide, allowing for a full field of vision, and accommodates virtually any brand of goggles (goggles are NOT included). We use a metal security plate triangle to reinforce the chinstrap rivet, just as an added touch. The LS2 MX470 Subverter changes the rules of off-road racing and gives you an edge against the competition. Meets or exceeds DOT and ECE certification.
great helmet. my motorcycle safety class instructor said "this looks like an expensive helmet". Well, I didn't know what "expensive" is as I'm a beginner but I didn't think this qualified as expensive after my friend told me I should be the best @ $500 on sale. So good to know an instructor thinks this helmet is darned good.
Pros-light, comfortable, fits perfect for female with lots of hair!-(ordered Medium)- awesome design, very stylish and edgy.
Cons-a little foggy, even with the vents open on all- can probably be reduced with some defogger- there is no area to install a sun visor- will have to wear sunglasses or look into a transitional visor instead
Interior foam is visible when the top vents are open- Just seems more of a design flaw but I doubt it will compromise anything. It only has 2 shells which I think is ok if you are riding a lower cc bike.
All in all, great deal for the price. Bought this until I get a faster bike and a Snell approved helmet.
Listened to previous reviews from other LS2 helmets to learn how which size helmet to get. Definitely go big or go home. I have a pretty wide field of vision from this helmet. The face vent makes a huge difference in fogging up my vision. I am riding in 70+ degree weather and rarely get too hot. Usually just opening the helmet when sitting at a red light for a long period of time. Love this lil' thing!
Excellent helmet I loved it and the service and support from the riders den is awesome really awesome, it is very comfortable and the right size I have picked up for my new motorcycle, really nice colour and it’s Matte finish what else you need, I hope I can make everything matte finish, all in all perfect helmet, great quality, great finish and it’s ls2 thank you rider den.
