The windscreen is definitely more for aesthetics than for actual wind deflection. Don't really notice any difference with it on or off other than deflecting wind off from the lower chest area. It's also nice that it blocks the wind from my phone mount. The windscreen looks great and works with the lines of the motorcycle to give it an aggressive and sporty look. Installation was easy. No qualms other than wishing it would deflect more wind, but you would need a larger windshield for that.
I was looking for a little relief from the wind at high speeds without taking away the sporty look of my Honda CB500F. This shield does that pretty well for its size. I still feel the wind on my helmet but the force on my chest is a little better.
This shield was very simple to install. Two bolts this thing was in place. Boom.
If you want drastic relief from the wind, buy a larger shield. I like this brand a lot. They make a taller "touring" windshield if that is what you need.
