I searched all over the internet looking for the dimensions on these, and never did find them. So I took a chance and ordered them. They ended up being way too small to put on my Nighthawk. I thought they would bridge the gap from the top of the shock to the stock turn signal mount, but no-go.
The short arm is 5" from hole to pivot. The long arm is 6" from hole to bend, and 6" from bend to pivot. The bottom bar runs about 4.5" below the top two holes. I posted a picture with the dimensions noted in the background too, for a visual reference.
Handy item for what it is, just didn't work for my application. Thought I would get some dimensions out there to help others, before I returned the product.
(1) there's no pictures at all in the destruction manual and the instructions are poorly lacking! This tiny pic shown for the product is unclear where the front of the bike is, so you have to guess on how it fits on your bike! (2) most of the 8mm diameter bolts included are too short, i had to go purchase 6" long bolts to fit the back nut-holes on my fender and short arm hole of the bracket. (3) it includes spacers (which are not mentioned in the manual which you're obviously meant to use under the saddlebag brackets and on top of your fender bars where the bolts go through) and larger diameter 10mm bolts (which I was able to used on my front fender nut-holes) but the spacers only have 8mm holes, so I had to drill them out to fit the 10mm bolts. (4) I purchased "Saddlemen 3501-0382 Cruis'n Jumbo Slant Face Pouch Saddlebag" for $194 and it recommended purchasing these $55 S4 support brackets, but they only go down about half-way on my saddlebags, so the straps and strings don't tie the bags down to the bar, but pull them up and the bags are loose and unacceptable like this; I had to work around by tying them to the frame. All in all, a poor design and it will make me return these asap! Here are some decent pics of how I installed them.
I bought these supports for the Saddleman Saddlebags. They work OK. No way to attach the bags to the supports so I don't know how they are really made for these bags. After I installed everything the bags got burned on my exhaust pipe so I couldn't return them. But they look OK. Work OK. But for the money, you can do a lot better
First, plan on buying longer bolts at the hardware store. Second, you will need to drill out the rearward bolt hole to specs.
Ok, now that's done, bolts right on and serves as one of the very few supports compatible with my machine. Holds large, full saddle bags away from the machine and ultimately serve their purpose well.
Recommended due to being few alternatives and heck, if you own a motorcycle, you're probably use to performing your own tweaks and mods anyway.
Arrived quickly and well packaged.
Universal is a word that may be overused on this product - it did not fit on my (Metric) 1986 Suzuki Intrudder with the included parts. In fact we had to weld together a mount kit for the unit to work at all, as we could not find the right connector bolt in any store/online. But it is on the bike now and the product looks nice (though the welded mount doesn't look very nice)! Have not had a chance to strap the Saddlebags on over it yet though.

Description
Recommended for use with any saddlebag. Include two chromed steel saddlebag supports plus All nuts, bolts and spacers needed for installation.
For the price compared to the alternatives that I know other riders used, I found this product significantly underwhelming - spacing nuts that accompany the product are really useless, wont extend past your shocks. Aesthetically good looking bars though
We were adding saddleman bags to our motorcycle. Had to buy more bolts because they were not long enough. Didn’t seem big enough for the bags that we purchased. Purchased the ones that you said to get.
We got this for our 2012 Phantom. Easy to set up. We had read the other reviews about having to buy new bolts but we just so happened to have 2 washers that filled the play room. Works perfect! Shipping was right on. All in all we are very happy with this purchase, highly recommend.
It says it won’t fit Harley FLSCT. IT does, just need different bolts. They give you metric and you need imperial
I was told this was suitable to fit a Triumph Thunderbird Storm and it does not. It has to be put on a wider frame and looks ridiculous. It is far from what I was told on website. I would not deal with this site again.
