Keys do not fit very well - takes a lot of work to get one in. Does not fit my 1.25" guard bar as well as it should. I had to de-burr the device so it would not scratch my bike. Package was pretty beat up like it had been sitting on a dirty shelf for awhile. Not sending it back since I can't get it back off due to tamper-proof nature of it...but I would not order this again. Cheaply made IMO.

Edited to a one-star: So, I got it installed. Before I even get up to 2nd gear this RATTLES/VIBRATES wildly. It's going ot take some work to remove this POS and then I plan to send it back. So regret buying and installing. (the rattle is not due to my installation, either)
After I installed it the first time I tried to use it the "metal" ( not sure it was) broke. Not a good product. Good thing I did not use the one way screws that were provided as I would not be able to remove it.
This product is extremely cheaply made, as you can see in the photo's a couple of issues I will point out.
1)There is no rubber or any type of grommet to place between you handle bars and/or the mount meaning your handle bars can be scratched very easily if any slippage occurs.

2) as you can see in the Pictures the locking mechanism (Key) only turns maybe a 16th of an inch between lock and unlock, This is not a massive ordeal as this lock is more of a deterrent than a preventative

3) As you can also see in the one shipped to me the pin is apparently missing and never was installed in the lock ring to keep it secured to the lock when it arrives it looks all fine but upon unlocking the lock ring just fell out of the lock assembly

this could have been so much better with just a few modifications but the way it was sent to me its entirely un-usable In the manufacturers defense, I have not tried to contact them to replace as it is more time consuming to me to try and return than it would be to just chalk up the loss. However the good thing is my biker group is over 300 strong in my area and will be able to spread the word about this purchase.
When I first got this, I thought it worked well... after 3 rides, not totaling more than 3 hours, it is a different story. One of the locks fell apart and it looks like the other one was just about to do the same. I don't know where the pieces ended up, but it was really disappointing to go to lock up my helmet and find the key core missing, making this unusable. Luckily it happened within the returnable time, so it is going back.
I'm very happy with this helmet lock. I mounted mine to the saddlebag guards on the side of the bike. It doesn't fit well around the front engine guard tubes, which is where I really wanted to mount the lock. There was a large gap between the body of the lock and the tube when I initially tried. I chose not to use the tamper resistant screw when I first mounted the helmet lock. I used standard machine screws to have flexibility to move it until I found a spot I liked. I think I will use stainless steel screws once I find a permanent spot and put red thread-locker on the screws to keep in place. Ultimately this is a good deterrent but a determined thief will defeat this lock.

I agree with just about everything that has been said about this product. I think my main disappointment was in finding somewhere to mount it on my 1200 Sportster Custom. I wanted it on the handlebars but find I'm limited to one small area one the left side, so I'll probably use removable screws because this is where I intend to mound a GPS in the near future. It says it can be mounted on 1-1/4", I as another reviewer noticed would not try this. The unit opening at its widest point is 1-1/4", once you start clamping it down your going to dig into your chrome and once that seal is broken you know what happens next. So I'm stuck with the temporary location on the left side of the handlebars until I get a sissy bar installed and I can move the lock to there. Manipulating the lock can be annoying as most everyone has said, fortunately I have a modular helmet so it's a little easier to get two hands in there. For the price it's a good deterrent, but don't be over confident in it ... if someone really wants your brain guard their just going to slice the web-strap and walk away, replace the strap later.
Also I have no idea where they came up with those dimensions they list, but the unit itself measures approximately 2-1/4"H (w/ clamp all the way in) x 2-1/4"W x 2-1/4"L. Maybe their dimensions are based on how much room you need to install it, lol.
One last comment: I found it helpful to put friction tape or a tape of your choosing on the inside of the mount so that it has a little better grip where ever you place it, also prevents damage to the surface you mount it to. Just a thought.
I have this mounted on my 2015 Harley-Davidson Ultra Limited and it comes in handy when I want to secure my helmet but avoid using precious space in the Tour-Pak or saddle bags. As advised elsewhere in these reviews, I did not use the one-way fasteners that come with the product. Rather I purchased regular chrome bolts so I can easily remove the lock and relocate it should I so desire.
I received the item very quickly. The hardest problem I had was trying to decide where to place it on my bike for my helmet. It does fit my handlebar very well

The only negative thing I have to say is that the screws are "one-way only" which makes it very difficult should you decide to move it. The head on the screws could be Torx heads or something that requires a special tool to tighten and remove. Something that most people will not have in their pocket or their typical toolkit. I did not tighten completely because I thought I might try it in one place and later move it if I feel I would like to after I see how well it works in my first choice. The other option would be to replace these screws with something from a hardware store that have a different head on them.

I will recommend to friends and fellow bikers but advise then to change out the screws before installation.
merci beaucoup
nice
