Effective, sometimes.
I live in Minnesota, and most mornings and evenings in spring/summer/fall, it gets chilly or muggy. This breath deflector does a decent job keeping my visor clear when the weather is not too cold or muggy. However, when it does get cold or muggy the deflector is not tall enough to catch enough of my breath. I find myself still needing to breathe through my mouth or cracking my visor to keep a decent visibility. On top of that, it pops off easily. Even though the snap on system is convenient, whenever I hold my helmet on the inside of the visor I pop at least one of the snaps off. This is of course easy to fix, but slightly annoying.
Bottom line: For the price I can't complain too much, but be warned that this is a fairly shallow and flimsy breath deflector.
Pros:
I think it improves the look of the helmet.
Functions mildly in reducing fogging, not perfect but an improvement over nothing.
An alternative to a breath box, or anti fog insert, but not nearly as effective.
Cons:
Middle notch does not fit into peg securely and keeps falling out which is annoying and slightly worrisome. I wouldn't lift the visor while riding for fear of the deflector being blown off the helmet.
Cheap and simple to install. It helps keep my breath from fogging my full face shield and seems to help the air flow of the vents on my shield.
Attached this to my CS-R2 helmet. Really helped to lower the fogging. (Doesn't eliminate it but really helps.)
Works well, fits perfect. Will not totally stop fogging but seems to help quite a bit. Worth the cost.

Fit my helmet , and works great.
My new CL-17 came with one of these. I'm having a serious problem with fogging visor and glasses in Seattle, so it doesn't seem effective. Maybe it would be even worse without it? I just ordered a breath box, maybe that will help.
Precisely what was ordered and perfect fit and finish with helmet. Functions as promised and will use as a permanent addition to helmet.
