Originally ordered the stud version from a different vendor. It looked was anodised and looked purple with girly gems. This one is much better and powder coated.

I wasn't sure if the mounting plate was included, but it was. All mounting hardware included.
Sharp looking and effective. I really didn't have an ideal spot for a frame lock. This is perfect. Highly recommend.
The license plate portion is thick enough to resist damage do to engine vibration and general road vibration. It has slotted holes so that alignment with your stock mounting holes is very easy. The helmet lock portion goes on either side on a "very sturdy" L-shaped bracket. The lock opens downward when released with the key. You do not need the key to close and lock the latch. Mounting the lock on the side of the bike where the side stand is used tilts the lock away from the body of the bike and keeps the helmet from touching the machine. Everything is secured with bolts that have a T25 modified torx type head which can only be removed with the wrench provided. This is a very nice system, strong and out of the way. However, your helmet will hang upside down so it would not be good in the rain. As always I recommend lubricating all parts of the lock with powdered graphite before installation.
The product is sold and made of sturdy metals. My helmet is securely locked to my bike.
Nothing to do with the product, but the original license plate holder on my Victory Vision didn't have the top two screw holes, so I had to drill them. Also the space between the bottom two screws and nuts from the Vision frame is very tight. The difficulty of lining up the screw and nut threads was beyond comprehension with very VERY little space to work with. I uttered a few choice expletives, but I'm proof, however, that it is doable.
Warning: the only way a thief is going to get your helmet is to steal your motorcycle or use a very sharp knife to cut the chinstrap and then take your helmet while leaving you the double "D" rings.
Tried others for $20-$30. None of them close without the key inside. This one does. It also doesn’t have any annoying rattles. Lock and mount both feel solid. After using this for a bit I also realized that this was the best place for a helmet lock for my bike (Yamaha bolt cruiser). The helmet can’t touch or scratch anything besides my wheel.
