As someone who overheats easily and rides in the North Carolina heat and humidity, I was really hopeful that this helmet would meet my needs.
1. This helmet looks really well ventilated but the truth is, it makes little to no difference because the vent holes on the inside are about the diameter of a small pen. Even at speed on dirt roads there is no noticeable air flow. It's possible it helps dissipate some heat but it's not enough to notice.
2. This helmet has all the current safety features MIPS etc, but it's also not lightweight. I have a Troy Lee D3, Fox V1, and HJC and they're all lighter than this helmet. Yes, I weighed them all.
3. Of all my helmets, this is the least comfortable. I wear a medium in everything and even my Troy Lee is tight but this thing will cause some pain. I have a narrow face and the cheek pads are so tight my jaw will hurt after a couple hours of wearing it. I'm hoping these pads will break-in a little as the rest of the helmet is comfortable
4. There is really no room for an ear piece for an intercom. I made it fit but again now it's pressing on my ears and becoming uncomfortable. All the other helmets have an area to accommodate ear pieces.
5. Obviously the styling is a little different, but I like it. Until I tried to mount things to the helmet and realized there are no flat surfaces. I made it work but even the visor is curved so much I don't have lot of faith my gopro mount will last. The visor is also very flimsy. This will probably help when crashing but it also makes my gopro bounce around whereas you don't get this with the other helmets.
I do believe this is a quality helmet but for the price I would expect some improvements.
I like everything; look, fit, comfort, light weight, air flow. Size was according to size chart for me. I got a Medium. I where a medium in every helmet I have; HJC, Bell, O'Neil, and some other brand. my head size is 57 cm.
I have been considering an LS2 Subverter but had held off purchasing one since I have a couple Leatt GPX 4.5 helmets already. But when I saw this one on sale for $107 I decided to pick one up. In my experience, some European helmets (like Suomy) run small so I ordered a size up. Normally wear a Large in my Leatt helmets but I an XL in the LS2 Subverter fit perfectly. This Subverter is slightly heavier than my Leatts but the GPX 4.5 helmets are ridiculously light so almost any helmet is going to be heavier. Still the Subverter is overall very light. Both my ProGrip and Truth MX goggles fit nicely on the Subverter.
Overall, really happy with the helmet but would recommend ordering one size up.
Great looking helmet and pretty light. Size runs very small. I've worn a Large in all other helmets I've ever purchased... So naturally I bought a Large. I could barely get it on and I had veins popping out of my head. It didn't cover any of my forehead either. As other reviews have stated the lower portion does sit very close to the face as well.
Decided to try this LS2 after a fair amount of research and sifting through reviews: and it definitely lives up to it's reputation. Well made outer amd inner (lots of detail not usually seen at this price point), lightweight and very comfortable to wear. I am at the top end of a Medium and usually order Large and that worked for this brand.
Lots & lots of airflow, no really ! Colours are wild and be advised the darker blue sections have a glitter finish, great for night visibility :)

The LS2 MX470 Subverter full motocross helmet is a game changer in the world of high-performance MX helmets. LS2 uses their proprietary Kinetic Polymer Alloy (KPA) for the shell. It’s lightweight, offers just a little flex as part of the energy management system, and is ultra strong. LS2 uses 3 shell sizes for the Subverter to assure that you get the smallest, lightest shell possible for your specific size. In fact, this is one of the smallest shells in the business. But things get even better. The internal, energy absorbing EPS uses in-molding technology, attaching an internal, polycarbonate protective layer between the dual-density EPS and the comfort padding. It allows the comfort liner just a bit of slippage to help offset and diminish rotational energy and dramatically improve the dissipation of energy absorbed by the EPS. We call it the Synthetic Slip System. The shell is 35 separate ventilation ports, with channeled EPS to allow the maximum possible airflow, keeping the rider cooler in the heat of competition. The comfort padding uses LS2’s thermo-weld system, reducing the need for glues. It allows the fabric to be more breathable and comfortable. The liner is removable and washable. The eye port is wide, allowing for a full field of vision, and accommodates virtually any brand of goggles. We use a metal security plate triangle to reinforce the chinstrap rivet. DOT approved. Meets the FMVSS 218 Standard
Bought this for my wife , size d correctly . She really likes the graphics and so does everyone that sees it . I really like the multiple density paddings , multiple absorption safety devices , light weight . Very pleased .
NOTE : When they say it is highly vented , it is not an exaggeration. Vents everywhere !. Great for the Texas heat but something to think about in other climates.
Con: When registering for the warranty it states the warranty only applies to European Union members . Well despite all the positives I started to send it back but kept it because my wife likes it . Hope it helps , stay safe , God Bless
Absolutely love this helmet! I live in the Sacramento region of California and we often ride in 90 - 100 degree temps and the vents on this thing are awesome. Plus it is a nice secure feeling snug fit that is not uncomfortably snug. After putting it on, I forget it is there. And it's light, but not feather-light. The only thing is that the straps + d-ring + plastic tab for separating the rings is a little fiddly for some reason that I haven't figured out yet. I.e. it's kinda hard to get the strap on and off with gloves on.
Super comfortable “long oval” lid, even pressure on all points around my head that’s shaped more like a melon than a cantaloupe. There are few quality helmets at this price point that fit anything other than perfectly circular heads yet this one is awesome, no “hot spots” or uncomfortable pressure points, only slightly heavier than the competition but it’s mostly due to the extreme cushioning inside. The finish is good with bold colors and graphics, appears very durable. Overall extremely satisfied with this helmet.
This helmet is perfect! We use it for dirt biking. It is snug and protective, the sizing is accurate. It arrived two weeks earlier than expected! Communication with the seller was clear and accurate. Fantastic experience, top to bottom!!
Helmets are sweet love the emergency pull out padding in them but warning!!!! You will get SLAMMED with duty if your in Canada I paid as much in duty as I did for a helmet! It sucked
