I admit being skeptical before this helmet arrived. I've owned more than 30 helmets, ranging from high end japanese models to low end models from different companies. I didn't know an awful lot about Torc. I was looking for a bluetooth integrated modular helmet, and I found options limited.

Now that I've received and worn this model, I'm floored by the price.

This is one of the sleekest modular helmets I've ever seen. It has the aesthetics and shell profile that makes it resemble a Schuberth C3. Now I clearly understand this helmet is not a Schuberth, I was pleasantly surprise that for a plastic helmet how well it is made, and how sturdy it feels.

One of my biggest complaints about affordable helmets is normally vents feel cheap. Normally cheap helmets rattle and feel flimsy and clunky. This helmet doesn't feel at all like that. All of the vents open and close snapping into position in a firm and exact way, like mid priced helmet should. I checked to see what this helmet sells for without bluetooth, and it can be found for $125. I can safely say that in my opinion, this is the nicest helmet I've seen at this price.

I admit, I bought the thing because it has bluetooth, but I was shocked how nice the helmet really is. I've tried the vega summit and nolan bluetooth models and this helmet resembles more the nolan than it does the vega (even though it is priced lower than the vega).

I used to own an oneal tirade bluetooth helmet, and I had a great experience with that helmet, so I gave this one a shot, since they both use the BLINC system. Although this model doesn't have the screen or fm tuner, it is louder, cleaner and I can hear phone calls much better than I could on the tirade. (Nice surprise)

I was surprised how quiet this helmet is at speed. It is the lightest modular helmet I've owned, which is very surprising given the price.

The most surprising feature that I fell in love with is the lever system for the drop down visor. SO many of these feel so cheap that it feels like most will break. This one doesn't have springs in it. It has a slider that is easy to find with my klim overland gloves.

I liked it so much I'm tempted to buy their T14 with bluetooth. I would buy it again. The only thing I would suggest it does run big compared with my shoei. I really would recommend a medium instead of the large.
Modular helmets are the best! I ride with an MC in Hawaii and helmets aren’t required here but my wife started riding with me and she wanted to wear a helmet so I thought that I’d get one also and both with Blutooth so we can talk on intercom along the way. I’m also a musician so having tunes had appeal. I wasn’t sure about sizing and I went to a local motorcycle shop and tried some on. It does vary between brands so I bought the TORC T27 in a large first. If it fit me, then I would buy a medium for my wife. If the large fit her, then I would buy an XL. My hat size is 7 1/4 and though the large fits me a little loose, it’s OK. I bought my wife a medium and I tried it on. It’s too tight on me but perfect for her.

The intercom is useless at speeds above 50 MPH. Too much wind noise so you can’t understand nearly anything said. There’s also a VERY loud (non-adjustable) beep when calling the other person on the intercom. This same VERY loud beep happens when turning a helmet on or off. At lower speeds though, the intercom has proved to be a nice feature.

I found the music quality poor and at higher speeds, like with the intercom, it was almost useless. I had paired it with a Motorola Moto X. I wasn’t happy at all with it. Not long after, I got a Samsung Galaxy and that made a huge difference. Volume is now loud enough even at high speeds and the sound quality went up too.

The ventilation is good and you can even crack open the clear visor a little bit to add more air flow. My helmet will stay cracked open just a little but my wife’s won’t. Mine is a little hard to close that last little bit but my wife’s clear helmet visor snaps shut. Hers probably works the right way. We both like the internal tinted visor. Another review said that the mechanism was hard to operate but both my wife and I have no trouble with it.

The chin strap is very thin and is easily twisted when putting the helmet on. Maybe it will get stiffer with age. The chin strap buckles tend to rotate out of proper position too. Both are something you learn to deal with but gets frustrating on occasion. I like the fact that the end of the chin strap has a snap so the tag end doesn’t beat your face in high cross winds.

Two of the small snap-in pieces inside the helmet are easily knocked loose. There is a wind and bug piece that sites under your chin. Reach in to scratch an itch and it will most likely pop loose. Holding the helmet by the chin does the same thing. Also, when you’re getting use to finding the lever to open the modular part of the helmet, reaching back a little to far will also make the chin piece pop loose. There is also a rubber piece that covers your mouth and nose. Again, trying to scratch an itch will pop it loose.

Battery life is good. It looks good. Weight is pretty light and overall, even though I pointed out some of the problems with the helmet, I like it and so does my wife. You will learn to work around the faults. Even if that means having to upgrade your phone to get more out of the sound system.

Great Fit, Great during the Day. Makes it a bit tough to see at night, but its certainly doable.
One star because it does not fit extra large helmets. It arrived on time, easy to install, packaged correctly but does not fit
Arrived on time and in great condition. I put the visor on and it overlaps the top part blocking half the airways, but, however, still works just as fine and technically fits (and technically not?) just not as fluuuush as the stock one. I have a HJC CL-17 punisher. I like it though! Great defogger
