Bought this AFX-50 helmet because I needed a new helmet and wanted a 3/4 helmet with drop down inner sun visor. Reviews showed that the size runs exact so, I ordered my first medium size helmet. It couldn't fit any better. My other helmets are large and fit fine but I measure 22" exactly which is a medium per the charts. Helmet is well built and the quick strap is very easy to use. I bought a pair of XSound 2.1 helmet speakers. They fit in the helmet perfectly and sound wonderful, even in the wind a 70 on the motorcycle. They cost $40.00 but it is worth the investment. I only have a few hundred miles with this helmet but if it continues like this I will be a happy camper.
I have been in the market for a open-face or modular helmet for several months. I wanted something that was quiet cost effective and a would allow me to install my Harley Davidson headset. I narrowed my decision to the Bell Mag9 but soon discovered I could only purchase it with a cut-out for a Sena Communication system, unless you had an extra small head, no XL's were available, this was a deal breaker for me.
Through my continuing search for a helmet, I soon came upon the AFX Helmets and discovered the FX 50. There were very few reviews on the helmet and those posted were not very positive. I did my research and decided to take a chance on purchasing the FX 50.
This helmet is well made and has features found in helmets that cost significantly more money. It met my requirement for being quiet and allowed easy of my headset. After my 100 mile test loop, I am satisfied with my purchase and would not hesitate recommending the FX 50.
Just came back from the first long trip with this helmet, 1350 miles in four days. I also have another 1,000 miles in local riding with the helmet. I have the large. It held up through the heaviest rain I have driven through yet on the bike. I like the external sun visor and the full shield combo. The internal shield was not a selling point for me, but I used it at the half down position in the Vermont mountains to help block additional sunlight. I put a headset in the helmet and don't really notice it there unless my sunglass stems are between the speaker and my earlobe- an easy fix by moving my sunglass stem to behind my ear. My wife bought an XS. She had some discomfort on her forehead. We plan to adjust the EPS inside her helmet now that we are home. Would highly recommend this helmet.
i own three other Afx helmets all XL all fit fine, this one was to small so i ordered an XXL it too was to small. i was rely looking forward to wearing this helmet but it looks like a will buy another brand, once me refunds post.
Fits perfectly. Great quality. Costly but worth it. I only used for 5-6 times, later i sold it out bcoz i sold my bike.

Decent helmet. Above average wind noise and vibration from the visor. Visor should be secured to the top of the helmet to eliminate that. Seams in the liner are annoying on my forehead.
Additionally, if helmet doesn't fit right, you pay the return costs, AND a 10% restocking fee, even if you follow the sizing guidelines but the helmet does not fit properly... Costly through this company. There are plenty of companies that do treat you better without restocking fees etc.
My girl loves it. Mostly because its pink
While I recieved it without incident and it is was advertised (I do like its features alot! and seems to be of reasonable quality), I have 3 other 'XL' helmets which fit fine, this one is tight sitting hard on my forehead. Therefore i somewhat regret the purchase without trying it on... I somewhat expected it but am still disappointed.
