I researched mesh jackets a little before buying and settled on the Alpinestars T-Faster. I did look at much cheaper jackets that were of no name brand, but didn't want to risk the tradeoff of a better price with potential inferior quality. The T-Faster is comfortable and stylish with good breathability. However, please note the following:
-Don't guess at the sizes. I found a sizing chart on another website that was incorrect and suggested a Large. In fact, after reading reviews, I discovered that an XL was the correct size for someone with my frame, e.g. 5'9", 200 lbs. and an athletic build. Even the XL is a little snug and I know that when I lose some weight, this jacket will have a little room in the front.
-The jacket is lighter, with armor built into the elbows and shoulders. An optional back protector is available.
-I'm not 100% convinced about the inner mesh pockets and the overall durability, but I guess time will tell. There is room for a wallet on one side and a cellphone on the other. There are two outside pockets, one on either side. Make sure that if you put something in one or more of the pockets that you zipper them.
-The jacket offers a nice, cool feel when riding but I guess that some strategically-placed zipper vents would be nice particularly in warmer conditions and high heat/humidity. Perhaps with the design, it isn't possible. I do know that I tested the comfort at 89 degrees with high humidity at local town speeds and it was hot. Then again, what wouldn't be? However, I was tempted to unzip the top of the jacket to get some flow inside and that's an invitation for flying, stinging insects to potentially get inside.
-Yesterday was 52 degrees and the ride on the highway was comfortable at road speed with short-sleeves on underneath. I imagine that upper 40s would be the lower end of the temperature spectrum for riding with this jacket but in those conditions, long sleeves would be required underneath.
-There are good aerodynamics with this jacket. No wind-buffeting at all on the highway.
Overall, the quality feels good, it's made by an established name and I am satisfied. I actually cannot rate the waterproof properties of this jacket and hope that I don't have a chance to.
Better than nothing.
Great fit, looks great and feels great. The ventilation is amazing for summer riding and the shoulder and elbow protection is confidence inspiring. The back protection is foam, but that is easy to replace to get a really good riding jacket that is minimalist, stylish, very functional and most importantly provides excellent protection!
It's a tight fit around the neck area but the jacket is high quality and had some very durable armor. I bought the additional back armor for added protection. The perforated mesh makes it great for summer riding but might be get a bit chilly in sub 60 weather (socal). Does not come with line
I'm 5'11 with a weight of 200lbs. Fits great. Perfect actually. Feels cool and comfy. Will get heavy though if you add the Alpinestars Nucleon Chest and back inserts, no surprise.

Bought item didn’t fit right ordered one that did fit from this seller and returned the one that didn’t fit. Seller took around 30 dollars just because.
Very Good material well made love this jacket in warm days of summer , i am 180 cm tall and about 80 kilos large fit perfect .
Short in body tight fit and its just mesh with padding. Ok for really hot days but not much protection tbh.
Worth the money.
