This helmet really is functional and comfy. It runs a little tight for those with wide faces. All and all I would recommend this helmet to anyone that rides often and far. The modular function flips all the way to rear and gives an open face feel. I had a little trouble installing a sena SMH-10. After a little work, the speakers are in the correct position and very clear.
Snapping the mic behind the cheek pad really keeps it wind free and conversations very clear.
At higher speeds the face shield will let rains drops in. Not a lot but enough to soak my mustache. The oval shape is nice for fitting. No matter how nice the helmet you still have issues not hearing your music using the speakers on the communication set.
Works well. I like it.

Description
The LS2 Helmets Valiant features the most stable "modular to open face" conversion mechanism in the world. As much as 20% smaller than competitive models, the Valiant is lighter, more stable and more aerodynamic. Our lightweight, aerodynamic shell is made from LS2's proprietary Kinetic polymer alloy (KPA) - 2 shell sizes to allow for a perfect fit and the smallest shell possible. A full metal latch assures the chin bar will stay locked when closed, and an LS2 exclusive design keeps the chin bar securely in place at the back of the helmet when it is in the open position. The UV and scratch resistant shield is optically correct and uses LS2's fog fighter Fog resistant treatment for the maximum in Fog protection. This product idea (helmet and integrated custom Sena ridepal 3 bluetooth unit) sounded good on paper. The helmet has a "glasses friendly" logo on each side, yet I could not get even the thinnest glasses through to my ears. I had to cut channels in the styrofoam. I also had to cut foam out to accommodate the stock speakers, although the helmet fit perfectly. And of course, there's the defective Sena unit (will no longer charge), awkward controls, inferior speakers... Also, no matter how many times I've washed the padding, it still leaves black die in the pores of my skin on my forehead that does not wash off easily, almost a year after buying it. The internal sun shade mechanism works well, but the shield itself distorts vision, rendering it useless.The whole thing's flawed, I hope it's not still in production in the original form.
When the Sena unit stopped charging, I was told by the dealer and Sena that LS2 was responsible for any warranty claims. I've been in contact with them and was told they'd send a replacement (still waiting a month later.) I asked for a refund, no dice. I've taken a non matching unit and velcro'd it to the outside of the helmet. The whole point of this LS2/Sena product was to avoid an outside installation.
The helmet construction is an improvement over my Shark Evoline 3 (similar design), with the exception of their failure to provide adequate space for glasses and speakers.
With this design you expect wind noise, but this helmet also provides a "howl." On my first ride in it I mistook the howl for a siren. This whole situation has been a waste of effort, and money.
I really like the chin bar mechanism as it operates with one hand, very smooth quick. No need to lift the visor as it lifts automatically as you bring the chin bar down. The helmet is very comfortable and has good ventilation. The face visor is very scratch resistant. After 30K miles I have found this to be a great helmet. Three things I think could be improved. The flat black finish is not very durable, shows many small scratches. The visor, though it looks easy to remove in their video, is very difficult. The drop down sun visor is a blue that makes thing look cloudy, I would prefer amber or green (personal preference)
This helmet is garbage! I had it for 4 months when the little plastic part that holds the visor broke. It is supposed to have a 2 year warranty. I contacted the manufacturer and they refused to honor the warranty. Now I have a $300 paperweight. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM LS2 EVER. THIER PRODUCTS ARE OVERPRICED GARBAGE. THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF!!
Customer service was great. Size was off and they exchanged it super fast. I highly recommend.
