I bought this for my girlfriend (Don't tell her she looks like a Storm Trooper in white)
This helmet is much nicer than I expected. Just a lot of nice features. Everything from the sun visor, 180 rotation of the chin protector, to the really slick chin buckle. Even the air flow channels allow a lot of air to pass through. I had to close the one on top because we were out on cool morning ride and she said she was freezing.
The helmet works very well. The padding inside is pretty tight on your cheeks when the chin guard is down. The helmet is heavy.
I have bought this helmet in July and used it for last few months. I am very satisfied with the lid.
What I like:
- very clever and practical design to use as full face helmet or open face one. I tend to use it as open face helmet when going at low speeds but close it at higher speeds.
- I can use one hand to close open all the way while in motion. This is a great feature. You will know when the lid is closed as it clicks in place with a solid clink sound.
- flows good amount of air even when totally closed. I opted for white color for better visibility/stay cooler in hot days
- could not get it to fog so far when fully closed (down to 5 C). Don't think I will ride at any temperatures below.
- this has become my go to helmet.
Things I don't like:
- padding on cheek still hard even after few months of use. The lid fits fine all over except the cheek where I feel pressure that becomes annoying after couple of hours (at that time I would need a break from riding regardless)
- the closing and placement of retention system is a bit odd compared to previous helmets. The retention feels to be placed forward close to chin. I have the retention at it smallest position but still have a little bit of room at bottom of Jaw. The helmet is good fit and won't move forward or slide when I try to move the helmet around (up/down & left/right) with my hands.
- when I take the helmet off, people tell me there are some slight marks on the forehead. I don't feel any pressure on the forehead what so ever but seems the padding does leave some marks.
Improvements:
- I wish the face shield is bigger (i.e. taller extending more downwards to cover the chin when I have the helmet open) to prevent any debris hitting around the the mouth/chin area.
- more interesting colors will be nice (mainly white with some black or blue or red designs)
