I had a crash wearing it,. The helmet absorbed the impact of my head going into a highway barrier. The bike shop did not put my tire on correct and the EMTs, Emergency room staff were impressed with the way the helmet was constructed. I am alive because I had it a lesser built helmet I'd be in the ground.
The fit is good, maybe a touch loose but a dew-rag under it will fix that. It is extremely comfortable and even up to 90 mph there was very little buffeting. The tint on the drop down visor is perfect, and I can wear my prescription glasses under with no problem at all. The quick release on the strap is very convenient. I have a long full beard and it's difficult to run a strap through a buckle without getting beard hairs ripped out. I am extremely happy with this purchase!
I've been using this for a week. However, I'll update the review in a few months if there is any change.
The only helmet I have to compare this one to is a size large Bell 'Boss' helmet. This has similar shape and size but somehow it doesn't look like a giant mushroom cap on my head like the Bell does. The size large fit by 23 1/2" round head way better than the Boss. The large Boss I have is tight on my head. It takes a lot of pulling to wedge it down on my head. However, the XL Bell Boss I tried before getting the Large was so lose on my head it was dangerous. So, I went with the tight uncomfortable Large size as a compromise. The LS2 is also about a third lighter than the Bell helmet. The chin strap has a convenient quick release already attached. Can't find a quick release for the Bell Boss that doesn't require cutting and sewing or riveting. The top-front air vent works (It can be opened or closed) and the fit & finish are great. Nice to have a little airflow where it always gets the hottest. Finally, the drop down visor is invisible when it's up. It's also made of plastic of a much better quality than is provided on the Boss helmet. At first, I thought too much airflow was getting behind the shield, but then I seem to have acclimated to it. Perhaps it was just my contact lenses giving me trouble that first road trip. I would've given the LS2 five stars, but it's too expensive.
The Bell Boss now has a nice dry spot to sit on up in the attic.
After a long search for the perfect helmet,. I found this one. The aerodynamic design was well done. I was skeptical of the drop down visor but found it to be better than my goggles. It pushes the wind around the helmet keeping eyes dry with no draft. The air vents do a great job of cooling head without letting in rain water. The ear covers are not too hot and allow you to hear ur bike over the wind. Great helmet, great buy!!
I don't know much about helmets so I researched them. A LOT. We went to a specialty store and looked at every brain protecting helmet they had. We ended up ordering 3 different helmets for my husband from Amazon. THIS helmet was the winner (3rd time's a charm).
I just wanted to make sure whatever helmet we got would protect my hubby's noggin really well because there's no replacing it. I read the reviews and a couple people survived bad motorcycle accidents because of this helmet. And LS2 helmets are used by professional moto racers that fly. So why not my husband while he zips along on his monster of an electric scooter doing 45mph or more (gosh I hope not).
It's DOT APPROVED which is necessary if you're gonna be on the road.
It's around 3 lbs but FEELS light, esp. compared to the Bell helmet (felt heavy at 3.5 lbs) we returned.
It's COMFY on the head.
The amount of cushion inside this helmet is really good.
There's a retractable and removable tinted visor. No need for sunglasses or goggles (though if you prefer, you could use them).
There are actual air vents. Working ones.
The secure chin strap is quick latching so he can secure/open it with his gloved hands.
All in all, a great helmet for the money. It's not cheap and not crazy expensive, but it's a quality helmet that does well what it's supposed to do. I highly recommend it. My husband says it's GREAT.
FYI, some LS2 info I got while researching:
While started in China in the 90's (the factory is in China), LS2's headquartered in Spain and they have both U.K. and U.S. offices and a big warehouse in Chicago. They're a global company. They have approval stamps from all the major entities (DOT, Snell, ECE, etc).
***UPDATE 12/14/20*** Since purchasing this, my husband was unfortunately hit by a car and this helmet saved his life. Literally. My husband was hit with such force that the impact sent him flying through the air head first into a lamppost. A police officer on the scene told him in 20+ years on the job, he had never seen anything like this (someone getting hit like he had and being able to come away from it alive) and that if my husband hadn't had this helmet, it would have been a white sheet ending. Truly a miracle. The helmet itself is completely INTACT. Only scratches. I've uploaded pictures. WORTH EVERY PENNY. HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO EVERYONE AND WOULD DEFINITELY PURCHASE AGAIN IN A HEARTBEAT.

Description
Speedwerx 3-Series Aggressive Profile Adjustable Machined Weights 72.3g Light Tip S3-2
I bought this helmet as a warm weather substitute for my 3/4 with full visor. I wanted more breeze on my face during warms months. Overall, the quality is good and I love the look. It's got a touch of "murica" without looking trashy. I've had the liner out and wash it with no problems. The for integrity held well. And it popped right back in easily. The top vent allows more air in than my other helmet, which is great for someone like me who keeps hair short -- a good amount of cooling breeze circulates.
In bright sunlight, your view through the visor will likely look a little milky. So definitely be aware and take extra caution when driving into the sun. I haven't had this issue with any other helmet. There are other replacement visors available through LS2 and I may consider purchasing the one that is a shade lighter. But I don't feel that impaired vision should be a quality of any helmet visor, especially in bright sunlight. Overall, I do recommend purchasing the helmet as the look, quality, and function are all great.
Very nice helmet very quick deliveryx
Everything has described, I am very satisfied with this item and how fast it arrived.
Couldn't get more of a mushroom head if I was in Mario World. It's got an inch and half of foam padding on the inside that covers your whole head for safety. And while I do feel safe but it is a bit much. The visor is very fighter pilot looking. Construction and materials are all 5 stars (except that I can't get one of the buttons on the ear flaps to snap).
Appearance though... that's minus two stars at least. I look ridiculous and it's a small! I could easily to go a medium but I wanted the smallest sized helmet possible. So it's just okay. I'll have to give a try before I decide whether I keep it or not. But it's not looking good... literally.
This is the BEST helmet of any helmets, I ever owned myself. I LOVE IT. Don't waist time with any other helmets, this is the one. Well it all depends what you need it for, but this one looks so well made. Size is correct, according to what I placed order for. Helmet arrived before scheduled time. Well packed in box and a beautiful bag for later storage. I love the sun shade and how it clicks in, when not in use. I would recommend this helmet to anyone looking for helmet. It's a great product.
