I purchased this for my 2018 959 Panigale and returned it shorly after.
Here's the Pros:
It looks pretty cool if it stays stuck and mounted properly. LEDs are bright and the integrated license plate light is well placed. It removes the hideous "whale tale" that plagues the Panigales.
Here's the Cons:
1-Shipping, it came in a unsealed box from NRC, sure it had foam padding inside and nothing was too scratched up but also part of the 3M adhesive (red strip) began to peel, most likely from poor handling of the carrier. The parts were not sealed, only the screws, bolts, and washers.
2-Documentation-non existent. It's not really necessary as the whole thing is more or less straight forward but for a newbie, you might be stuck
3-Quality-Parts are pretty decent and light weight but compared to the new kit I purchased from Motobox, you can see an exponential difference.
4-Fitment and Installation - The removal of the factory fender is easy straight forward. I recommend you have a super long hex driver to remove the two bolts that sit underneath the seat and make sure you have a magnetic pick up tool to pull those factory bolts/washers out.
Now as far as this NRC unit installation is concerned, this is where I really felt like I should just put it in the box and send it back...but glancing over at the horrendous factory fender, I decided to proceed. Bad idea.
First, they expect you to leverage a single tapered bolt (that is almost impossible to get to sit flush in the belly of the unit) and tape to keep this unit mounted to your bike. They do not leverage factory mounting bolts at all and I have no idea why, that would make this 1 star kit a 4 star kit. Instead they expect you to take this single bolt and jam it through the same hole you feed the wiring through! Unbelievable. Furthermore, they expect you to smash the single steel washer they provide down on top of those wires to tighten the unit in place. That can potentially cut and definitely scrapes up your internals. It makes no sense. If you are installing this or about to and so happen to be reading this in disbelief, you'll want to do what I did: fabricate or purchase a flat cross-shaped washer with a matching rubber washer to run the bolt through and anchor down with a smaller washer. Now you can run cables freely between the openings of the washer and the rubber washer will protect the internals of the bike from cosmetic damage and also keep it put (grip). After that ordeal, the only thing you have left to rely on for solid fitment is a few strips of thin 3M adhesive. Ok, if you've ridden a Panigale a few times, you know how hot it gets and how much heat it pumps out, exhaust area included. Yes, heat is good for adhesion but this kind of heat is counter-productive. In just 2 days of this unit being installed, it began to separate at the furthest end...as dust and debris stuck in the area it became worse and worse. Finally I took it off, it was easy-the tape barely hung on. Also note, this is pretty important-the factory underbelly of the tail flops around a bit. It RELIES on leveraging those factory mounting bolt points to secure...so taping an extra piece of aluminum to it just further makes it flap around.
tl:dr - Good concept but terrible fitment and quality. This should not be more than $75 (since it's a Ducati). $180+ is unrealistic for what you actually get so the 1 star instead of 2.
Recommendation: Go buy the Motobox unit if you're looking for a high quality version of this that's actually designed well. It's considerably more expensive ($350) but it's also going on a Ducati aka a beautiful piece of machinery. Why take short cuts and get cut short?
BTW, I do not work for Motobox. I'm just an Engineer with a sense of empathy.
This tidy tail kit looks awesome once it's installed. With that said, there are no instructions that come with it. So, I'll give you a quick run down of how to install it and the license bracket. Remove your rear seat (or cowl). Take out the 4 hex screws from the 4 corners under your seat. You don't have to take any out of the OEM tail assembly other than the 4 under the seat. Clean the underside of your tail lights where the kit is going to be installed with alcohol. Attach the wires to the tidy tail assembly and check to make sure that you've got them correct. Peel the protective film from the adhesive backing and place the kit where its going to go. Use the provided bolt, washer and locking nut to secure it to the tail by going through the grommet hole in the center of your storage area. There are some other wires that use this so be careful not to damage them when you tighten the lock nut down. The license plate bracket has an L-shaped bracket that goes with it. If you plan to leave your passenger pegs on you bike, use the factory hex screws to secure the plate and bracket. If you've taken the pegs off... use the provided screws. There's a video on youtube on how to install this if you get stuck. But, all-in-all, it's fairly easy. Be careful with the long bolt and your wiring, and also sliding the license bracket between your pegs and the tail of your bike.
2017 959 panigale.. (pretty frustrating when they tell you it will fit and it doesn't, especially after you buy the tools that is needed and you take your bike apart)
Did not fit properly. Nor did the "long screw" they give you reach through enough to use washer and nut. Without the washer, screw and nut will fall out and item will be hanging by the connected wires. Again this is on a 2017 959 panigale. I tried many different angles to try to make it possible but it just wouldn't reach at all. Also where the tail and the item meet there were gaps. ( wish it would have fit, because anything looks better then that factory plastic licence plate holder lol)
I read a LOT of reviews about how hard this was to install. BS! True, they should include directions and it's hard to believe they don't, I mean so simple WTF is wrong with you. The you tube vid is good, a bot drawn out but it doea the job. I'm highly mechanical so this was super simple and if you're even 25% of what I am and actually use the youtube video then this should take a maximum of 20 minutes.
For the kit. It's slick, very clean and looks bad ass. The signals are great and it lines up pretty well with the OEWM parts. Be carefull with the mounting of the primary bolt, its steel bolt vs. Plastic DO NOT over tighten. It's a great kit for the money!
Only complaint is there is some tolerance in the manufacturing, it takes a little finesse to get everything squared up. Not a bad design, looks great when completed. Install was maybe 30 minutes. Anyone with 3mm & 4mm allen wrenches can do this. Suggest ample tightening of the single bolt holding the unit to the tail.

When you pay so much money one expects a good quality product. The plate holder clamp design is really average the provided clamp needed further metal fabrication in order to install. finally as nice as the under tail indicators look the provided screw is really short. Which gave way eventually. Overall not a recommended product for the kind of money.
Simple, looks great and easy to install. No instructions provided but a little thought and you understand how everything fits.
A lack of instruction and good demonstration along with no part list made this installation more frustrating than it needed to be. A long 4mm hex and the tool kit the Ducati comes with is really all you need. If you plan on keeping the rear pegs be prepared for a frustrating effort getting the bolts out and back in with the heat shield blocking them. Great product but terrible instruction.
