I purchased the DOT version of this helmet, and the fit/finish is better than my $450 full face helmet any day. The connector is strong and simple to use. This is my official 'around the town' helmet!
Anyone who quotes the movie spaceballs while describing the size of this helmet is probably itching to tell you their opinion about how the civil war was about taxes, or how Charlie Daniels isn't really racist hes just misunderstood. The fact remains: If youre in gloves, boots, and a leather jacket this helmet looks stunning and has a very confident fit.
If you're a baby boomer or Gen X'er, you're likely accustomed to riding with the novelty version of this helmet patterned directly off the German Stahlhelm helmet. its also the helmet that lost two back-to-back world wars, so maybe its not the go-to helmet for keeping you safe on a motorcycle. Skip the cosplay and get a DOT version. its the difference between picking your bike up after you go down, and picking a story to tell the neurosurgeon when he has to scoop a plastic toy out of your skull.
I’ve previously bought 3 Daytona Helmets in the past and have had nothing but good to say about them since. In this items title an description it clearly states “100% DOT APPROVED”

First order of this helmet, upon opening it had no protection bag like it usually does. Figure maybe this is a return. Who knows. Further inspected to find a card attached to the helmet that stated NOT DOT APPROVED. Confirmed this by looking for the DOT sticker on the helmet, and NOTHING .
I returned, and waited 2 more days for it to come in.
SAME EXACT PROBLEM!!!
Except this time, it only the helmet in a plastic bag, no actual product box whatsoever!
Ridiculous, I must be crazy to think hopefully it won’t happen a third time, guess we’ll see! If not they keep this hunk of junk!
I have 5 motorcycle helmets and they are ALL size medium and therefore I ordered a medium since my head size is right a out 22 inches. Not this one!!! I think I probably need an XXL. This helmet looks good and authentic BUT extremely under size and at the same time, the shell is HUGE! Very disappointed and had to returned it.
For in town riding this helmet would be great, it is comfortable and it remains out of your field of vision. For a DOT helmet it is good looking. Problem is anything over 50mph and the helmet will try to fly, the strap is the only thing holding it on and the constant strain of the strap gets old quick. It catches enough air to push your head back more than any other helmet I have used. If all I did was ride in town this would be my preferred helmet, but I have to take the highway and this helmet is horrible for that use.
It nice to have this style of helmet for this price now being that said it’s a little bigger that I thought actual size not the circumstance for your grape. For better fit for your grape I recommend use a tape yes a tape don’t go oh the last one I had was this because it will bring you pain physical and emotional because you’ll have ship it back and what not.

When i started looking for a helmet, i liked the sleek style of this. I accidently bought the novelty helmet first go around and didnt realize it wasnt DOT approved. I returned it and got the DOT approved helmet. The DOT helmet was huge. The interior of the helmet fit great, but it looked like someone used an XL helmet shell and put enough padding in it to make it a medium. I had not trouble at all returning both helmets. This would be a great helmet if you have a larger sized melon.
Looked like a dork but felt safe. Helmet is ridiculously huge. I returned.
Ive seen a lot of negative reviews and im glad i didnt listen and bought it anyway. I think this was a good buy. Worth the money AND it arrived a day early! Good job. D.O.T approved and fit my head perfectly
Stylish helmet... Looks good though strap is not the best hence 4stars.
The fit is small so order a size larger.
