I have attached the difference between the stock visor and the silver visor. I was torn between getting the smoke versus silver. After receiving the silver and attaching it to my helmet I am very satisfied with my purchase.
It has the perfect amount of tint for riding both sunny and cloudy days. I have not rode in the night so no comments on that.
Overall no complaints and very happy with the purchase. I only use a microfiber cloth with warm water and a little bit of soap to clean it and that seems to work very well.
I'm really liking the R420 helmet and the addition of the dark smoke shield made it perfect. I typically ride during the day, so the tint is perfect for both bright sun and overcast days. No noticeable changes to wind noise. Not really a problem with the shield, but since it is so dark it is tricky to get it lined up perfectly when installing it. It took a bit longer than normal, but definitely not a deal-breaker. It looks amazing on the matte helmet as well!
- So far I had this visor for 2 weeks. Easily gets fingerprints and the coating scratches off.
- As a student commuting to class. I do not recommend carrying this visor/helmet around with you. You need a microfiber cloth on you all times or your friends will leave their greasy fingerprints. Try your best to store your visor/helmet away or it will get banged up.
- The tint isn't dark as I wanted but it gets the job done especially since I wear eyeglasses also you can bare with the visor at night if you're going home from class.
I was asking a hundred times about if this shield was pinlock ready, some people said yes, other said not and the most important that was the seller never answer, so I did my purchase and definitely its not pinlock ready, now I have a pinlock and I can't use it with my shield, thanks for make me thrown away my money.
Dark but not too dark, i dont ever ride at night so this visor works perfect to that bright daylight and glares, oh and it looks good too. It was a little tricky to install bit if you just look at the visor and how it engages into the helmet mechanism youll pop it in easy... or watch a youtube video on it.

Such a disappointment. The visor is not polarized. Any time direct sunlight hits it from a side-view angle it casts a glare making it difficult to see clearly. This is more of a danger than it is worth. Make sure you find a polarized visor.
Love it. Anti-fog coating is better than my $200 dragon goggles. and the tint is enuff for bright summer days but not so dark you can't use it at night. I would no do a long journey at night with it but I could get home from work no problems.
Looks, as expected. You cannot see the riders face head on but from the side you can a little. Reason why I don't give this a 5 star is because the face shields for this helmet are suppose to be anti fog but mine has fogged up several times already. Not horribly but then again it is not fall yet and I haven't ridden in the rain yet as well... Other then that, it was easy to snap on the helmet and looks great. Be prepared to have finger prints, on the outside as well.
