I love the retro look. The gold is subtle. The shield allows me to ride my bobber without a gaudy windshield. It blocks the sun during the day, but can still be used at night if the weather is clear. The only issue I have is that it can scratch if you aren’t careful, but I haven’t found a scratch proof lens yet. The price is good so replacing it a couple times a year isn’t an issue for me since I ride my bike nearly everyday.
I like the plastic bubble shield…good shape, nice visible filter, low fogging, UV protection, and not overly sensitive to scratching or delamination.

The metal snaps are the worst kind of thin, cheap, malleable, tin-can metal, which easily bends, and are sloppily/partially riveted together. Very bad quality control and cheap materials for snaps stand in stark contrast to the nice plastic bubble. Here are three experiences with three different shields of this model:

First shield: All three metal snaps were the wrong diameter, so the snaps wouldn’t fit my helmet.

Second shield: All three snaps were found loose and disconnected from the plastic bubble in an unopened package, direct from the Amazon seller.

Third shield: Middle snap rivet pulled apart from the bubble shield on first use, due to wind pressure and vibration. The vibration and wind pressure almost pulled out my helmet’s snap, too! This design really needs all 5 snaps. Too much pressure is put on the middle snap which is a weak point for failure.

If that’s not bad enough, the three snaps on the shield are flat on the outside and won’t accept a snap-on visor, like the 5-snap flat shields. A visor might possibly help with the vibration and loose fit with the plastic bubble. The only reason why I’d every buy another one of these shields is as an experiment to drill out the old snaps and replace them with snaps salvaged from a 5-snap shield. I wonder if it’s possible to pop-rivet them back together after being drilled apart. Or, maybe a leatherwork company sells snaps that could fit.

If the manufacturer simply spent another 50 cents on quality snaps, this would be a much better product. If the manufacturer were to make a shield design with 5 “good” snaps, this would be a great product and I’d gladly pay more. It’s sad that some manufacturers don’t have enough pride in their product to be aware that they are selling slop. Perhaps the designers only envision city use.
Such a simple experience. That led to me being blown away by this amazing shield. It was all protected and what not upon arrival. Then let me be the first to say. Show stopper. This thing gets more looks then you're ready for. Look out social distancing gatherings. This baby is looking to steal the show and she gon.
LOVE the look of it but the snaps constantly break.. I have been though a few already.. I can say that Biltwell customer service is awesome.. they replaced one, no questions asked

another downside is it is always loose on the helmet.. on the freeway of I turn my head to see of there is a car left or right, the visor shifts on the helmet.. makes noise, feels like its gonna rip off..

but I do like the look.
Dropped my helmet about 3 feet and the button snapped off on one of them. Really unfortunate how fragile it is but you’re not suppose to drop a helmet anyway so it’s my fault. Great look and it’s nice for around town riding. The yellow vis gives me protection from the sun during the day as well as clear visibility at night.
Got the chrome one too but it scratches easily and let’s sun in and is horrible for night riding. Yellow is definitely the way to go!

Biltwell bubble shields are a snap to install, if you start with the center snap and move outward. To clean your shield, use mild soapy water solution and a microfiber cloth to loosen bugs and road debris, then dry it with a second clean microfiber towel. Never use harsh household or petroleum-based chemicals to clean your bubble shield, especially on the inside, as they can destroy the shield's special coatings.

I ride every single day, rain or shine. These shields block out all the dust, smoke and sun every day as well as those raindrops that feel like tiny needles stabbing you as you ride in the rain.
It’s a $25 visor, all of the finishes scratch pretty easy, I wipe my down using Bug Slide and a microfiber cloth. Eventually they all smudge and scratch, that’s just how it is. I bought a couple for my wife and I to wear mostly so we can hear and communicate better with our Cardo Bold Bluetooth helmet intercoms. They work great. I say buy, wear, and when it gets scratched or smudged just get a new on, OR buy clear a clear one and wear sunglasses. The shields do a fantastic job of keeping kamikaze insect on a death mission for crashing into your face, and that’s the purpose. Would I buy again? Can’t see why not.
I have a Biltwell helmet. It's surprisingly great quality for the price. This visor however is not. I got a drop of water on it, tried to wipe it off. I kid you not, the chrome came off. I've ridden with this visor a handful of times and it's already scratched so bad it's hard to see through. I am pretty disappointed with it. I specifically bought this visor thinking that the manufacturer would have the best quality, guess I was wrong. Maybe the clear version or non chrome would be a better choice??? I don't know.
It is a nice looking shield. I anticipate it cutting down on wind noise to a degree. I make this assumption because of flanged edges which will push wind out away from the ears.
Sadly, I quickly discovered it is not ant-fog. The shield fogged up with each breath. There is enough play between the helmet and your face to push it out enough to clear the fog out. I don't know where or why, I got it in my head this shield was a flip up shield. It is not a flip up shield.
I already, accidently dropped it on the floor while getting it ready to place on the helmet, so I can testify it did not scratch. Their saying it is scratch proof is true if their anti-fog claim is not true.
My eyes are very sensitive to UVA and UVB and I get horrible headaches and my eyes throb from prolonged exposure to these ultra violate light. This helmet shield is actually UVA and UVB blockers. For that reason alone was why I bought this shield. Otherwise, like another tinted shield I bought here, I had to wear sunglasses under the shield for protection or my eyes throbbed in pain.
Their anti-fog claim too was a very important sales point for me. Seeing as how it does fog up, is why I am only giving it 4 stars. As anti-fog is so important, I am being very generous giving it 4 stars not 3 or 2 stars.
