This is an excellent jacket! If you are deciding between a basic Joe Rocket jacket at $180 or this one for $240ish (as of 6/8/2020) then you should spend the extra money on this.
The leather quality (and smell) is excellent and downright superb at this price point. Why this jacket is only $240 is beyond me as I would have paid much more and still felt like it was a bargain.
The red areas (see photos) are leather areas that are mixed with rubber and fabric so that the jacket stretches as you reach forward for the handlebars without the sleeves riding up your arm.
I've only ridden in 80-degree weather and the perforations allowed enough air in to keep me from sweating. I would expect the removable liner to do its job on cooler or cold days to keep you warm.
The elbow and shoulder pads are perfect but the shoulder pads will hit your helmet during a head check, depending on your riding position of course.
The jacket fits as expected and you can use the sizing chart and feel confident. I bought the XL and have a 44+ inch chest. I would expect that the jacket should accommodate a 17-17.5 inch upper arm without much issue since there is some stretchable fabric used on the inner side of the upper arm area.
Overall, I am blown away and highly recommend this jacket.
Very good deal for the price. Well made. I usually wear a small but the med fit perfectly so i think sizing up should be considered.

Description
LS2 assaults the competition with the class-leading Assault Helmet. The Assault shell is constructed from LS2's Kinetic Polymer Alloy (KPA), a lightweight strong composite material, and is paired with a multi-density EPS liner into three shell sizes. The interior comfort liner uses a high-tech fabric that wicks moisture, dries quickly and is fully removable and washable. The comfort pads are pre-curved using LS2’s 3D laser technology for all-day comfort and no hot spots. Large, adjustable vents on the chin bar and at the top of the helmet work in conjunction with the rear spoiler and side venturi vents to offer adjustable, dynamic flow-through ventilation. The eye port is wide and houses an optically correct, Pinlock ready faceshield (lens insert sold separately). DOT approved. Meets the FMVSS 218 Standard, product also meets requirements imposed by the California Air Resources Board (CARB)
This is my second LS2 Valiant II helmet. This one is a replacement. I was T-boned on my motorcycle and ended up sliding about 20 yards many of which was on the side of my head. This helmet stood up to the impact and the slide amazingly. I love the modularity that I can change on the fly without removing or replacing parts as I go.
I love the modular helmet so far, I went through many reviews before buying. Make sure to measure around head correctly for sizing. I went with the small, head measurement 21-1/2" or 54-1/2 mm. It is a snug fit and will break-in nicely. Ventilation is not very noticeable. Vibrational echo will be very prevalent, especially higher speeds and/or long rides (I have loud exhaust). I have not tested with comm system yet.
I do enjoy the Modular system, seems to work very well. And looks really nice. 1 month review.
