Bought the I90 to upgrade from my old IS-2-Max that had broken. It was several years old and dropped too many times. Originally - wasn't going to buy another HJC but was intrigued by the price and some of the reviews. I bought and banked on returning it after trying it, but I'm keeping it. The upgrade from the IS-Max was immediately noticable - Far better fit (cheek pads are cut differently, with a better seal around the base (for noise reduction) - FAR better ventilation, the internal visor is easy to operate (new slide location takes some getting used to), and believe it or not, the thing seems significantly quieter than the IS-Max was. HJC nailed the upgrades and for the price, I think it's a really good helmet. DOT and ECE safety rating (on models 2xl and smaller). - summary: fits better, not super tight against my fat cheeks like the old IS was, quieter, MUCH better ventilation. Breath deflection is way better (less fogging in cool/wet weather), fewer pressure spots inside secondary to a better designed removable padding system.
I have two complaints however: (1) - it comes with a pin lock ready visor, so they should throw in the pin lock fog shield (I would have paid extra for this). I'll order one - but it would have been a nice thing to come with the helmet. and (2) - I don't like the proprietary comms compartment. I have an Amp Go Bluetooth system and have had it mounted on my old helmet with the "binder clip" system. That's not possible with his helmet - I'll have to get the adhesive mount (the old one broke moons ago) - and probably have to mount my comm system on the right of the helmet (I have cruise control though, and I'm right handed so no big deal) - as the sun visor mechanism is on the left side of the helmet and mounting the Bluetooth there would hinder use.
I thought I'd be sending it back, but I'm keeping it (and I like it).
Nice helmet. Replaced my older Shoei modular helmet. It's similar in weight to the Shoei. I know that people say that fiberglass is more durable than polycarbonate, but the windows on the space shuttle are made from polycarbonate and those were launched into space and then experienced reentry, over and over again. I have yet to "test it" in a fall, but I have confidence in the DOT and EU safety ratings that it will protect my noggin, at least as well as my old Shoei that had become stiff from age (kinda' like me... Lol) The only suggestion I have is to but the pinlock insert at the same time as you buy the helmet. I ended up buying the wrong one. If you get it with the helmet, your chances of getting the proper insert are greatly improved!

It is louder then other helmets that I have had in the past but the aero is great at high speed no head shaking and fit is very good I did buy this helmet from cycle gear for alot more then what amazon wants though
