PowerTye 50153 Blue 15"X15" Cargo Net featuring 6 Adjustable Hooks & Tight 2"x2" Mesh
: PowerTye 50153 Blue 15"X15" Cargo Net featuring 6 Adjustable Hooks & Tight 2"x2" Mesh: Automotive
I use this net on a 2007 gsxr-750
I do several long trips per month, and I wanted a way to transport luggage without using a backpack
I have used this now 10 or so times, and I have no complaints.
I have tested it at speeds above legal limits (for science), and my gear stayed held down solid
There has been minimal permanent stretching, which is impressive with how much I have expanded it.
This style net is great for any size, and can easily be positioned to not cover any lights
Love might be a bit strong an emotion for an elastic net but their's no in between star for "really quite fond of". What I do like (deeply from my soul) about this thing is the plastic hooks that wont scratch the paint or rust from salt air. Other nets of similar build may pass my eye but this one will always be my truly, (sob) it holds my groceries as though it really cares that I don't loose the gallon of milk on the way home. Maybe I don't show my feelings enough but next time in traffic I swear I'll proclaim them at the top of my voice, "This is my net & it is mine!" Oh yea & the little backward hooks help with tightening the mesh if needed.
This net is pretty versatile and adds a lot of options for when you need to carry stuff on your bike. I've been using it for a few months for errands around town and on a few 500+ mile trips. The only problem is that one of the hooks fell off this week.
Great cargo net for groceries on a bicycle. I've owned the red, orange and now black. The red and orange stretched very easily and over quite large loads while not crushing bread or chips, but the black is much smaller and harder to stretch. Plastic hooks on all three versions have never broken or failed.
Great little net. This was my second purchase of this netting (one for me and now one for my wife). I use them as lids for a milk crate. The milk crate is used for storage in the back of my kayak. The netting has nice small square holes that help keep everything inside the milk crate if I flip my kayak. It's absolutely perfect for my use.

I have a pizza rack mounted on the front of my all around commuter/touring/ride around the neighborhood bike. This is like having 6 bungie cords going in different directions.
I used it on a bike packing trip and secured my sleeping bag, sleeping pad, and a water bottle all on the rack. It held them all secure over all bumps and holes. Admitted you have to have enough bulk items on your rack for this to stretch over and hold them secure but that is what it is made for.
I am sure you could do the same thing with a few bungie cords but somehow this looks more secure to me and sort of cool.
I went on a 4-day trip with luggage strapped to my passenger seat. Day 1 was perfect. No issues. Day 2, I secured my luggage the same exact way as day 1 and an hour into the ride, the load shifted and ended up rubbing against my rear tire. I got a hole in my $250 bag and ended up with finish damage on my frame from either the plastic hooks or the buckles on my bag. A corner of the net was damaged as well. Day 3 and 4 I only used this net to hold small items to my seat and wore my backpack instead. I was fortunate that the bag was still usable and the contents didn't get ruined.
So be very careful with this net as it will feel very secure at first, but start to stretch and lose its hold as you use it. It probably broke in about 50% causing enough slack for the load to shift.
It's good quality but my only issue is that the plastic hooks are somewhat bulky and difficult to fit around the places I'd like to put them. You may not have the same problem - it depends on how much clearance you have on you bike. Maybe the hooks would be better as metal so they could be slimmer?
Nothing moves
