I must say that I did a lot of research on this shield on various GoldWing forums and sites. The feedback was generally great for the SE version (because of it's 6mm thickness), but I honestly didn't want to spend just under $400 for some RainZip and an extra 1.5mm thickness over this one (4.5mm) when the OEM shield is 4mm. So, I gambled and it paid off. I just went on a 500+ ride yesterday to give 'er a workout down in the Texas Hill country. I had the shield one notch up from the bottom. The shield was VERY stable and provided excellent wind protection. I'm just a hair short of 6' tall. And even with my modular helmet pulled up, it still didn't give me much turbulence. I expected the additional flex with the wider upper screen...that goes without saying...but it was in NO WAY any worse than the stock shield. In fact I was quite surprised that it didn't flex as much as I expected. It was a breeze to install. Just search on YouTube for some videos...Cruiseman has a good one where he installs an SE version, but the same applies to this one. The only small complaint is getting the OEM vent to "snap" in. Once I figured it out "Doh"...it was easy.

One thing I would suggest, if you take a look at the installation video from the F4 windshield folks, they use a strip of soft Velcro in place of that ridiculous OEM tape on the facing of the dashboard. Remove that old tape that tends to bunch up and replace it with Velcro and the shield will be as snug as a bug and wont bind as much.

For those of you that are cost conscience and more practical, this shield is excellent.

PS. I ordered the shield from the folks at Kinney Cycles. Had it to me in a few days. Well packed and ready to mount.
Had high hopes when I ordered this windshield. It looks great on the bike but does very little to buffer the wind on my helmet and I get a lot more wind on my arms and shoulders. (5'8" and 200lbs) The distortion on the sides and bottom is distracting and I feel it could be dangerous.
I will probably remove and return this weekend.
Windshield slopes back into the riders position a bit too much for me. I have adjusted halfway up and it vibrates a lot at higher speeds. It does drive the wind over your head though. Plan on replacing with the OEM taller windshield.Slopes back towards the rider a bit too much. Also due to the shape of the windshield does not seal on the weatherstrip on the faring properly.
Before I bought the V stream I read as many reviews as I could find about windshields made for the 1800 Goldwing.
To my surprise I was not impressed, The 4 mm shield is blurry at the bottom, when the windshield is raised to the top the air vent is too high.
At highway speeds it flexes in the win. Although it blocks more air than the OME shield there is still wind buffering. My biggest issue with the stock windshield is cold air curling and hitting me in the back of the neck. When the weather gets colder I will update.
I am very un pleased with the cut out that v stream made for the vent. The opening is to large for the stock vent so once installed you need to center it up . Ill bet that the vent that they sell would go in hassle free .In fact seems to me that it was done like this so you would give up on trying to get the stock one installed and buy there's ! I have never had any trouble replacing the vent in stock wind shields they go in hassle free. The reason I even changed the wind shield was to help keep the wind off my wife .So if your looking to do the same save your money . Actually I will take it back out and if there are no marks on it it's going back. The only gain was less wind on me! So if you are a lone wolf you may have some thing to gain . Buy the way you guys that are complaining of movement from the wind I had my bike well past 100 and did not see any thing to be concerned about.

Looks Awesome 🏍🏍🏍
Does break up the buffeting a bit, But because of its angle. When it rains tosses water right in your face no matter what height its at on my GL1800 Gold Wing. Nowhere near as good as my National SwitchBlade on my 2 other bikes
Very tight fitting
